Tabriz

The capital of Persia under the Ilkhan, it is located in the north-west of Iran. It has been inhabited since Prehistory and objects found by archaeologists in various archaeological sites in the region are mostly exhibited at the Tabriz Museum.

Even though many historical monuments have been destroyed by earthquakes, other renowned historical places are visited every year by thousands of Iranian and foreign tourists.

Tabriz enjoys a dry continental climate. In winter it snows and in summer, the weather is usually warm, dry and sunny.

Some must-see sites such as the superb Blue Mosque, the Tabriz Arg and the Jardin Shah Goli will rhythm your stay in Tabriz. A visit to the Tabriz Bazaar, the largest in the world, is also a must. Its construction dates back approximately 1000 years and extends over 35 kilometres of roads.
